Deficit Irrigation as a Tool to Optimize Fruit Quality in Abbé Fetél Pear
نویسندگان
چکیده
Climate change is leading to higher plant water requirements and rootstock can play a role in tree adaptation, since the more vigorous ones are also likely be stress resistant. Pear trees of cv. Abbé Fetél grafted on BA29 (more vigorous) SYDO dwarfing) quince were irrigated according three different treatments: 110 C, 80 DI 60 DI, corresponding 110%, 80% 60% crop evapotranspiration rate (ETc), respectively. Shoot fruit growth, potentials, leaf gas exchanges dry matter content monitored during season. Fruit quality was evaluated at harvest after 6 months storage 1 °C. Results show how for both rootstocks, significantly decreased their stem (?stem) (?leaf) potentials as well exchanges. In SYDO, final size affected by irrigation, with lower values but BA29, no differences found between treatments. After storage, showed soluble solid content, while fruit, firmness irrigation level. conclusion, despite slight decrease size, reduced led features that maintained long period storage.

Dynamics of Fruit Growth in ‘Conference’ Pear as Affected by Root Pruning, Irrigation and Climatic Conditions
In 2002, daily fluctuations in trunk diameter and fruit diameter on ‘Conference’ pear trees were measured with linear voltage displacement transducers. On an average sunny day in July, trunk diameter started to decrease around 10 a.m. when air temperature increased. This continued until 8 p.m. when air temperature started to decline. Fruit diameter growth of ‘Conference’ ceased as soon as trunk...
متن کاملEffects of regulated deficit irrigation on physiology and fruit quality in apricot trees
The effects of regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) were studied on 9 year-old apricot-trees (Prunus armeniaca L. cv. ‘Búlida’) grafted on ‘Real Fino’ rootstock. Two irrigation treatments were established. The first, a control treatment, was irrigated to fully satisfy the crop water requirements (100% ETc) and the second, a RDI treatment, was subject to water shortage during the non-critical peri...
متن کاملfruit quality and yield of tomato as influenced by rain shelters and deficit irrigation
this study was conducted to determine the effects of the combined use of rain shelters (rs) and deficit irrigation (di) on tomato yield and quality characteristics. two experiments with different treatments were conducted in the southern china during the growing season in 2011 and 2012. the crops were irrigated to field capacity once average soil water content at the 0-60 cm layer in the treatm...
متن کاملInterdiction problem as a tool to identify an effective budget allocation to quality improvement plans
In the face of budgetary limitations in organizations, identifying critical facilities for investing in quality improvement plans could be a sensible approach. In this paper, hierarchical facilities with specified covering radius are considered. If disruption happens to a facility, its covering radius will be decreased. For this problem, a bi-objective mathematical formulation is proposed. Crit...
متن کاملPear fruit growth under regulated de®cit irrigation in container-grown trees
The effect of regulated de®cit irrigation (RDI) on fruit growth was studied for pear trees (Pyrus communis L. `Barlett') grown in 120 l isolated containers. Two irrigation treatments were applied in consecutive seasons (1996 and 1997) but on different trees each year. The Control treatment was watered to non-stress conditions using stem water potential (Cstem) and Penman ETo as a guide for the ...
